Road Closure Scheduled For Busy Route 9 Stretch

Motorists can expect delays this week for a busy stretch of Route 9 as contracting crews continue overnight construction work in the area.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced that north and southbound lanes in Fishkill will be closed from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 30.

During the lane closures, motorists will see delays, and have been advised to seek alternate routes, when possible. Detours and signage is expected to be posted in the area around the lane closures to assist drivers.

According to the NYSDOT, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone can lead to the suspension of a driver license.
